Maria E. Seidle of Hatboro, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Arden Courts of Warminster. She was 87 years old. Maria was born April 15, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late George Filak and the late Marie C. Filak (nee - Biedermann). She is the beloved wife of Edward Seidle; mother of Barbara Donatelli and her husband David P. and Linda Woods and her husband Stephen; grandmother of David M., Scott, Gregory, and Jeffrey Donatelli, Michael, Kristen Lax and her husband Rob, and Megen Woods; great grandmother of Landon Lax; sister of G. David Filak.
Maria was born and raised in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia and attended the Ellis School for Girls in Media. After school she worked for her uncle’s tool and die business. In the early 1950s, Maria met Edward Seidle at a dance at Wagner’s Ballroom which was located at Broad and Columbia in Philadelphia. Maria and Edward became a couple and were married in June of 1954. Maria stopped working after the they began their family and raised her daughters until they were in school. She then returned to work at the Lord & Taylor department store for twenty years, and then spent the following eight years working for the United States Department of Defense at the Johnsville Naval Air Development Center in Bucks County. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children, sewing, cooking, antiques, refinishing old furniture, and traveling with her husband and daughters. Together Maria and Edward visited major sites across the United States, took cruises, and experienced Hawaii and Europe including many World War II battle sites.
Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 9:30 A.M. and to her funeral service at 10:30 A.M. at Gloria Dei Church, 570 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Her graveside service followed at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. James Goodyear, Jr., pastor of Gloria Dei Church.
