Adora M. Madison of Fountainville, Pennsylvania went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, John G. Madison, all of her siblings, other family members and friends.

Adora was 98 years old. She was born October 25, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Rost and the late Rosa Rost (nee-Schneider).

Adora was an incredible seamstress working at Wanamaker’s and Lit Brothers department stores. She also worked from home as an independent entrepreneur making drapes, slipcovers, wedding gowns, coats, dresses, and smocked baby dresses, ALL A WORK OF ART. She was a simple cook, but enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family and friends.

Adora leaves behind, as she would say, “her 3 girls, all different, but all loved the same”. She is survived by her daughters; Joanne Prescott, Betty Jane York and her husband William, Susan Coburn-Barndt and her husband Kenneth; 6 grandchildren, Gordon Coburn, Robert Prescott and his wife Donna, John Prescott, W. David York II and his wife Colleen, Stephen York and his wife Kristen, Jenny Eisenhuth and her husband Raulen; 3 great grandchildren, Ryan, Derek and Eli York.

Relatives and friends were invited to celebrate Adora’s life on Thursday, November 30th at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, Pennsylvania 19090. Viewing was held at 9:30 A.M. followed by her funeral service starting at 10:30 A.M. conducted by Rev. J.R. Damiani of Family Worship Center of Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Interment was held at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, Pennsylvania 19002.

Adora loved children, so in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse for Operation Christmas Child, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

Family flowers arranged by Schmidt’s Florist 215-745-6234
