Gladys Elizabeth Mitten, a longtime resident of the Olney section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Monday, January 1, 2018 at Southampton Estates. She was 93 years old. Gladys was born April 9, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is the beloved wife of the late Wilmer Mitten. She was the loving mother of Janice Nakon and her husband Ted and son Bill Mitten and his wife Gail and grandmother of Jonathan Mitten and his wife Carolyn and Brian Mitten; she was also a great grandmother.
Gladys graduated from Olney High School. She was an active member of Cedar Grove Church where she taught Sunday School and helped with Pioneer Girls.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 8:00 A.M. and funeral service from 9:00 at Crossroads Bible Church, 855 Old Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Her graveside service followed at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
Religious services were conducted by Dr. Glenn Jago, pastor of Church of the Open Door, 1260 Fort Washington Avenue, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
