Rev. Lane A. Weller of Warminster, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Jefferson Health Hospice at Warminster. He was 88 years old. Lane was born September 2, 1928 in Spring City, Pennsylvania, son of the late Rev. Charles Herbert Weller and the late Lydia Viola Weller (nee - Bergey). He is the beloved husband of the late Rae (nee Fell) Weller, father of Keith Weller and his wife Janice, Craig Weller and his wife Linda, Kim Loring and her husband Rev. John, Colin Weller, Ned Weller and his wife Jill, and Nan Kellerman and her husband David; grandfather of twelve; nine great-grandchildren (and counting); brother of the late Dale E. Weller and his wife Dixie, and the late Hope Renniger.
Pastor Weller spent his formative years being raised in the congregations and communities that his father was serving as an itinerant Methodist Pastor. After his initial schooling, and desiring to follow in his father’s footsteps as an ordained minister, Pastor Weller spent two years at Wesley Junior College, the following two years at Dickinson College, and completed his Master’s of Divinity at Drew University. It was at Wesley College that Pastor Weller would meet the love of his life, Rae Fell, and the two were soon married on June 16, 1951 at the Rosebank Methodist Church in Rising Sun, Maryland. Pastor Weller’s ministry, much like his father’s, found him moving around Pennsylvania, going where he was needed. He began in the Pocono Mountain region, and then traveled to congregations in Lehighton, Honey Brook, Conshohocken, Willow Grove, and finally Hempfield. Throughout his life, Pastor Weller was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and finally great-grandfather. He was a voracious reader who took great joy in sharing books with his family members, and enjoyed wiffleball and softball in his free time.
Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Willow Grove United Methodist Church, 34 North York Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Lorelei Toombs from Willow Grove United Methodist Church, 34 North York Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
