Katherine "Katie" Ihlenfeldt of Telford, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Lutheran Community at Telford. She was 91 years old. Katie was born February 26, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Willy Alfred Faulhaber and the late Anna Dorothea Faulhaber (nee - Knoell) who emigrated to the United States in 1923. She is the beloved wife of the late Rolf Ihlenfeldt who passed away August 21, 2014 and the late Gottlob Wiech who passed away February 15, 1970; mother of Eleanor Keller and her husband William, Susan Gray and her husband Peter, Leslie Ihlenfeldt and his wife Mary Anne, Joseph Ihlenfeldt, Jeffrey Ihlenfeldt and his wife Christine, Eric Ihlenfeldt and his wife Lisa, Laurie Welch and her husband Richard, Diane McNair, and Jeannine Higgins and her husband Kevin; sister of Martha Schneider and her husband Albrecht, the late Werner Bauer, and the late Dorethea Haeusser. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Katie was born in Philadelphia but spent four years from the age of 2 to 6 living in Neuffen, Germany with her grandparents. She returned to the United States in 1932 and lived with her parents in North Philadelphia. Katie met Gottlob Wiech at the Mission Sisters Conference Center at Liberty Corner, New Jersey. They were engaged on Christmas Eve 1944 and were married at Tabor Lutheran Church in the Feltonville section of Philadelphia on April 21, 1945. They lived in the Lawndale section of the city until 1960 when they moved with their family to Beechwood Drive in Huntingdon Valley, PA. After Gottlob’s death in 1970, Katie met Rolf Ihlenfeldt. They were married on May 25, 1980 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Southampton, PA. They then became active members of the Addisville Reformed Church in Richboro, PA. Katie remained at her home in Huntingdon Valley until after Rolf’s death in 2014, when she moved to the Lutheran Community at Telford. During her working career she was employed as a saleswoman for Wiech’s Bakery at 3rd and Nedro Streets in the Olney section of Philadelphia and for Koch’s Bakery in Southampton, PA. She ended her working career as a receptionist for Dr. Frido Buschmann’s dental practice in Huntingdon Valley. In her leisure time she enjoyed square dancing, sewing, crocheting, ceramics and crafts. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Relatives and friends were invited to a visitation on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 9:30 A.M. and to her funeral service at 10:30 A.M. at Addisville Reformed Church, 945 Second Street Pike, Richboro, PA 18966. Her graveside service followed at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.

Religious services were conducted by Pastor Ryan Sweet of Addisville Reformed Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Addisville Reformed Church, 945 Second Street Pike, Richboro, PA 18966. Please note that donations are to be designated for the “Missions Fund”.
