Robert F. "Bob" Thompson of Southampton, Pennsylvania died Monday, November 13, 2017. He was 78 years old. Bob was born June 27, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Robert Thompson and the late Christine Thompson (nee - Doherty). He is the husband of Betty Thompson; father of Brian Thompson and his wife Rebecca and the late Robert Thompson and his wife the late Denise; brother of Marian Trombley and her husband Jerry, Lois Douthart and her husband John, and the late Jeannette McIntosh.
Bob was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. He graduated from West Philadelphia High School and continued his education receiving Bachelor Degrees from Philadelphia Textile and Philadelphia College of Bible. Bob worked for many years in logistics, he was an elder at Davisville Church, and was on the board for Mission Projects Fellowship. Bob loved sports and volunteering for Samaritan's Purse.
Bob was a long-time resident of Cheltenham Village where he and Betty raised their children. Over the years he volunteered with Cheltenham Athletic Assn Baseball and Cheltenham Jay-Vees Soccer where he enjoyed coaching his sons and other kids in the community, many of whom remain Thompson Family friends to this day.
Relatives and friends were invited to Davisville Church, 325 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966 for a visitation on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. and memorial service at 7:00 P.M. where a reception immediately followed.
