Hilde’s family has lovingly composed the following obituary:
Hilde Pauline Degler, age 92, passed away on November 25, 2020. Born in Philadelphia and baptized at Tabor Lutheran Church, she is survived by her loving husband William; children Linda and Don Reichert, and Nancy Messenger; grandchildren Brian Reichert, Micah and Kyra Messinger, Kayleigh Hurley, Mira and Thea Putnam; and great-grandchildren Trey and Logan Hurley.
Hilde was a loving and generous wife, mother, and grandmother. She was gifted with a beautiful voice, sang in several choirs, and could spontaneously harmonize with others without any practice. Hilde was a talented seamstress, sewing beautiful clothes and accessories for herself and her family, and expertly upholstering any piece of furniture she could get her hands on. An excellent cook, she was known to bake ten pies for large Thanksgiving dinners. Hilde and Bill were happily married for 71 years; they enjoyed being at the seashore together, traveling, and visiting with the family. The family loves Hilde/Mom very much and will miss her witty and beautiful presence.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, at 211 South Main St., North Wales, PA 19454.
