Betty L. Engle of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at her home. She was 90 years old. Betty was born October 11, 1931 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Friedrich Fink and the late Berta Fink (nee - Grimm). She is the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Engle; mother of Deborah Ruslavik and her husband Victor; aunt of Fred Grimm and his wife Margie and their family, and the extended Pisanick and Donnelly families.
Betty was born and raised in Philadelphia and was a graduate of Frankford High School in 1949. She was a life-long member of Girl Scout Troop 79. Betty worked as a Bookkeeper in the Frankford Trust Co. Title Department from 1949 until 1969. She changed jobs and worked at Michelfelders Meats in Olney for a time before becoming a Library Data Clerk for Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia where she has worked since 1988 until she was 82 in 2014. Betty loved spending time with her friends from Girl Scout Troop 79 and Frankford High School at reunions.
Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 9:30 A.M. and Funeral Service at 10:30 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Her Graveside Service followed at Forest Hills Cemetery, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Jane Marston, pastor of Tabor Lutheran Church, 4860 North Howard Street, Philadelphia, PA 19120.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Tabor Lutheran Church - Memorial Fund, 4860 North Howard Street, Philadelphia, PA 19120.
