Robert K. Shyer of North Wales, Pennsylvania died Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Gwynedd Healthcare and Rehabilitation. He was 91 years old. Bob was born July 25, 1931 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Harry Shyer and the late Edna May Shyer (nee - King). He is the beloved husband of the late Betty Shyer (nee - Ballantine); father of Mark Shyer and his wife Traci, Jim Shyer and his wife Dodie, and Beth Schmid and her husband Karl; grandfather of 4.
Bob was born, raised and educated in Philadelphia. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict, and was honorably discharged from the service in June of 1954. Bob was a driver for U.P.S. during his working career and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a long time member of the First Grace Brethren Church on Oxford Avenue in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia, until 2010.
Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. and memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at Village of Neshaminy Falls Clubhouse, 195 Stump Road, North Wales, PA 19454. Interment was private.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Roger Wambold.
