Elizabeth Lina "Lina" Rohrer of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park. She was 91 years old. Lina was born October 31, 1930 in Karlsruhe, Germany, daughter of the late Friedrich Wilhelm Eisele and the late Justine Eisele (nee - Steiger). She is the beloved wife of the late Ellwood Julius Schuessele and the late Frederick C. Rohrer; mother of Mary Rohrer-Dann and her husband Michael, Peggy Willis and her husband the late Edward, Diane Battilana and her husband Steven, Eileen Wadlinger and her husband Michael, Betty Mason and her husband James, and Fred Rohrer Jr. and his wife Mary. Also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Fritz, Wilhelm, Herbert, Marta, Gerda, Annaliese, and Elfriede.

Lina was raised and educated in Diedelsheim, in the Karlsruhe Region of Germany. She immigrated to the United States in 1951 and went to work for various households. She married Ellwood Schuessele until his passing in 1959. Lina had a second chance at love when meeting Frederick Rohrer and the two wed in 1961. They joined her one daughter with his four, and then welcomed a son into their family in the Burholme section of the city of Philadelphia.  Lina worked for many years at the Germantown Farmers Market and several German bakeries but remained above all a mother and nurturer to her children and countless friends.  She enjoyed cooking and baking and would make sure anyone who entered her home was well fed. Her father, a choral director in their home town, taught her a love of music which she had throughout her life. Lina enjoyed singing in the Bethany Church choir and in the German women’s chorus the Damienchor Harmonie. Lina also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and making dresses, especially for her girls. Lina was a longtime member of the Vereinigung Erzgebirge where she enjoyed many social activities.
