Virginia G. "Ginny" Rangnow of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Philadelphia Protestant Home. She was 95 years old. Ginny was born June 8, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Edwin Sharpless and the late Reba Sharpless (nee - Harper). She is the beloved wife of the late Warren Rangnow; mother of Nancy Clemens, and the late William Rangnow; grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 12. She was predeceased by her brothers, William Sharpless and Chis (Charles) Sharpless, and her sisters Reba Brown and June Landis.

Ginny was born and educated in Philadelphia, where she was a June 1944 graduate of Olney High School. She was raised in the Burholme section of the city and worked as a secretary for the Naval Aviation Supply Depot in northeast Philadelphia. Ginny was married to Warren Rangnow in 1946 after he returned from serving in Europe with the U. S. Army during World War 2. They lived for many years at 7414 Dungan Road in a house that Warren and her father built. More recently Ginny was a resident of Cheltenham, PA and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Cottman Avenue and Palmetto Street in Philadelphia where she was a volunteer in “tons” of church activities. It was the church that she and her family attended since she was a child. She was also a volunteer for over 22 years at the Fox Chase Cancer Center. Ginny had been a resident of Gloria Dei Manor in Huntingdon Valley, PA since 2000, and during the same period she has been a member of Gloria Dei Church. She became a resident of the Philadelphia Protestant Home in 2016.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 9:30 A.M. and memorial service at 10:30 A.M. at Gloria Dei Church, 570 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.

Relatives and friends are also invited to her graveside service on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Please gather in the funeral procession area to the right of the cemetery office building before 2:00 P.M.

Religious services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Karyn L. Wiseman, pastor of Gloria Dei Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - Greater Delaware Valley Chapter, 555 Croton Road, Suite 111, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
