The following obituary was composed by Astrid’s family:

Astrid Jessop of Abington, PA died Sunday December 18, 2022. She was 78 years old and married to Charles Jessop. Astrid was born January 21, 1944, of ethnic-German heritage in Lodz, Poland, daughter of the late, Alfons and Elsa Hausch, sister of Heinz (George), Helga, and the late Brigitte. Wife of 53 years of Charles Jessop, step-mother of Chuck Jessop; mother of Michael Jessop, husband of Anna; and Jennifer Bonnell, wife of Bill. Grandmother of Willow, Elizabeth, Wren, Matthew, Ellianna, Crocs (Jon), Autumn, Nathaniel, and Aunt to Mark, Anita, Ty, and Lara. Astrid, a daughter of the One True King was sure to share her love of Jesus.

Astrid was raised in Huntingdon Valley. She attended Lower Moreland High School where she represented Pennsylvania in the National Science Fair. She graduated high school in 1962 and attended Elizabethtown College. Astrid worked as medical assistant in an ophthalmology practice and for many years at Briar Bush Nature Center. She was a member at Faith Community Church, Roslyn and Church of the Open Door, Fort Washington. Throughout her life, Astrid designed embroidery and crafts with Bible verses that hang in the homes of her friends and many people she never met. Astrid enjoyed photography and spending peaceful time in nature. She loved to garden-- with a grandchild when possible. She cooked delicious Rolladen & Spaetzle or homemade rotisserie chickens for those who needed encouragement. Astrid designed a backyard pond where the fish and frogs would greet her each feeding time. Astrid’s loving husband Charlie was always included in her plans. They were known for their love of Jesus and one another.

Relatives and friends were invited to a visitation with her family on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. and her celebration of life service at 2:00 P.M. at Church of the Open Door, 1260 Fort Washington Avenue, Fort Washington, PA 19034. Light refreshments followed the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Church of the Open Door, 1260 Fort Washington Avenue, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
