Douglas W. Bornmann of Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania died Friday, April 9, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Manor. He was 94 years old. Douglas was born October 12, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Lloyd A. Bornmann and the late Gertrude Bornmann (nee - Sieger). He is the beloved husband of the late Patricia Bornmann (nee Somers); father of Dennis Bornmann, Kathryn Deniken (Michael), Margaret Rich (Anthony), Patricia Lynn, Dawn Grech (Larry), Carolyn Bradley (Paul), and Christine Myers; grandfather of 13; great grandfather of 7; and the great great grandfather of 3; brother of the late Lloyd Bornmann Jr. and the late Patricia Grow.

Douglas was born in Philadelphia an attended Frankford High School. Douglas enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. He served honorably from October of 1943 until his discharge in April of 1946. He was an avid reader with a special fondness for Sherlock Holmes and pipes. He was a member of the Sherlock Holmes Society and he and Patricia enjoyed traveling to see the shows. Douglas was retired after thirty years working for the City of Philadelphia.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. and funeral service at 12:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. His graveside service and military honors rendered by the United States Navy followed at 2:00 P.M. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Owen Griffiths
