Ellen (Stewart) Burrows, age 92, wife of the late Oliver K. Burrows, Jr. passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021. She was a resident of Southampton Estates, in Southampton, PA.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Alice E. (Hargus) Stewart.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Naperville, IL.
Ellen was proud to have served her country in the U.S. Air Force (1952-1953), where she met her beloved husband, Oliver, to whom she was married for 60 years. She believed in service to her country, her community, her church and was dedicated to improving education for children, as she saw the future in their hopes, dreams and plans.
Surviving are her children, Oliver K. Burrows III (Donna) and Elizabeth Ondra (Emil); grandchildren Stephanie Johansson (Adam), Jason Burrows, Kristina Burrows, Jennifer Burrows; great-grandchildren Caleb Bierman and Anderson Burrows; brother-in-law Dr. Thomas H. Burrows (Phyllis) and their children Anne, Michelle, Thomas, and Grant.
Services will be held at a later time.
Isaiah 40:3-5
3 A voice of one calling:
“In the wilderness prepare
the way for the Lord;
make straight in the desert
a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be raised up,
every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level,
the rugged places a plain.
5 And the glory of the Lord will be revealed,
and all people will see it together.
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
