Rims, Alice ( Wichwilla )

Alice Rims, 92, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2021. She was born on July 28, 1928 in Philadelphia.

Alice was predeceased by her two brothers, Charles Wichwilla and Edward Wichwilla. Her husband of 51 years, John Rims, died in 2001.

Alice grew up in Northeast Philadelphia, and later moved to Hollywood, PA nearby to Abington, PA where she lived for over 30 years.

Mom was quite active in her golden years, as she belonged to three Seniors’ groups, with regularly scheduled meetings. She belonged to Abington Retired Citizens (ARCATS), Queen of Peace seniors group and St. John of the Cross seniors.

She volunteered to help run the frequent special day trips, collecting money and running fund raisers such as the delicious pot pie sales.

Alice was proud to be a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Abington VFW Post 3612, helping with luncheons at the Post.

She was also a member of American Legion Post 821 Bridesburg PA.

Alice’s faith was important to her, and she was a regular attendee at Sunday mass at St. Hilary of Poitiers R.C. Church in Abington. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Hilary’s for many years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Arlene (Rims) Lloyd and John Lloyd of Connecticut. She took special delight in following her grandchildren, Beverly Spaulding and John Michael Lloyd. She also considered herself blessed to have twin great-grandchildren, Haley and Patrick Spaulding.

Services took place at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, 1215 Super Highway, Langhorne, PA 19047 at 11:00 A.M. on May 25, 2021.

Religious services were conducted by Fr. Kevin P. Murray, pastor of St. Hilary of Poitiers Church, 820 Susquehanna Road, Rydal, PA 19046.
