Rosalia "Rose" Knoll of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Philadelphia Protestant Home. She was 93 years old. Rose was born April 21, 1926 in Filipowa, Yugoslavia, daughter of the late Jacob Dickmann and the late Eva Dickmann (nee - Urrich). She is the beloved wife of the late Otto Knoll; mother of Eva Arndt (Chris) and Angela Junger (Peter); grandmother of Jessica Thiessen ( John), Erica Arndt, Anita McKeown ( David), Kirstin Arndt, and Sabrina Junger (Joe Mikuta); great grandmother of Emma and Matthew Thiessen and Ian and Talia McKeown; eldest sister of Anna Hessler, Eva Jack, Katherine Hollinger, Margarete Martini, Franziska Goerlich, Elizabeth Werner, Florian Dickman, and Erwin Dickman.

Rose was born, raised, and educated in Filipowa. She was relocated to a camp during the second world war but was luckily able to reconnect with her family at the end of the war. She raised her girls first on Cortland Street attending St. Henry Parish and later Emerson Street where they became very active at Resurrection of Our Lord Parish. Rose was a seamstress who worked on samples for designers at Gloria Vanderbilt, Villagers, and Cinderella. Her talents were put to use making dresses for Shirley Temple and many child actors of the time. Rose and Otto were founding members of the Danube Swabian Association where donations may be made in her memory.

Services were private. Religious services were conducted by Rev. Msgr. Kenneth P. McAteer from St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
