Janet E. Herrmann of Jenkintown, PA passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020. She was 93 years old. Janet was born March 17, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Harold Harker and the late Estelle Harker (nee - Russel). She is the beloved wife of the late William Herrmann; mother of Lois Herrmann Phillips and her husband Thomas, Leslie Disque and her husband Dave, and the late Lynne Santry and her husband Bill; grandmother of Skye Phillips, Kelly, Ryan, Tim, and Elizabeth Santry, and Phillip, Jackie and Liana Disque; great grandmother of Chelsie and Nolan Witkowsky and Rylee Santry; aunt of George Herrmann.
Janet was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Olney High School where she made many lifelong friends. She and William were married in Philadelphia in 1950. Throughout their marriage they traveled to the American West and especially enjoyed fall foliage road trips to New England. They raised their family in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia.
Relatives and friends were invited to her graveside service on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. We will meet at the cemetery main entrance (by the office) at 11:30 A.M. at Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Road, Roslyn, PA 19001.
Religious services were conducted by Pastor Deborah Wolfe from St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 7965 Fillmore Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
Memorial donations can be made in Janet’s name to a local food bank.
