The following was composed by May’s family:

Irena "May" Temple (nee Burt) passed peacefully on Dec. 19, 2021. She was a loving Mother to her son Scott Temple (Toni Lipton), and daughters Amy Kasdorf (Boyd Pickard) and Leslie Novak (Dan) as well as her grandchildren: Jordan Novak and Erika Saladino (John) and her Great Grandson Asher Saladino all of whom will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her loving husband: Franklin Brooke Temple, her parents Edgar and Katherine Burt, her sisters: Edith Miller (Graham) and Thelma Abel. She is also survived by her brother-in Law: Ray Abel and several nieces, nephews and friends.

May lived a faithful life serving in her church and on the Board of Bethanna. May loved to write poetry, visit with friends and family as well as travel the world and enjoyed trips to China, Thailand, Switzerland and Europe.

She loved learning and trying new things including woodworking, teaching English as a second language, millinery, learned to transcribe into Braille and even in her eighties took a flight lesson. and enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking. May believed in giving back, helping others and she was always willing to lend a hand, share a kind word, a new recipe or a good laugh and was very devoted to friends and family.

Her family wishes we all aspire to her love of life, learning, love and laughter and remember her humble spirit.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. and to her memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at Peter Becker Community, 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, PA 19438.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Bethanna, 1030 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966.
