Carl J. Olsen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Suburban Community Hospital. He was 82 years old. Carl was born April 5, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Charles Olsen and the late Dorothea Olsen (nee - Ballantine). He is the beloved husband of the late Shirley A. Olsen (nee Capone); loving father of David Adams and his wife Rosanne, Denise Lewis and her husband Ray, Eric Olsen and his wife Susan, Charles Olsen, the late William J. Adams Jr., and the late Robert Adams; grandfather of Lauren Owen, Tabatha Adams, Matthew Lewis, and Cora Olsen; great grandfather of Gillian and Ariana Boland, Makayla Adams, and Brianne Lister; brother of Janice Olsen, Joan Olsen, and the late Lawrence Olsen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Carl was born, raised, and lived most of his life in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia. He attended St. Bartholomew School, North Catholic High School, and graduated in the first graduating class from Father Judge High School. Carl played on the Varsity football team at both North Caholic and Father Judge. During his working career he was a truck driver and member of Teamsters Local 107. He drove many years for Signal Delivery and eventually retired from New Penn. Carl enjoyed exercise and weightlifting. He loved fishing and going to the shore with his wife and children. Carl’s passion was supporting the Phillies and Eagles; he watched practically every game!

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 9:45 to 10:45 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. His graveside service followed at Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Road, Roslyn, PA 19001.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Joseph J. Quindlen, pastor of Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
