Elisabeth M. "Betty" Stefany of Galloway, New Jersey died Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Seashore Gardens Living Center. She was 87 years old. Betty was born September 21, 1933 in Bierbrun, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Michael Stefany and the late Susanna Stefany (nee - Galgon). Betty was preceeded in death by her parents Michael and Susanna Stefany, her brother William Stefany, and her sisters Irene Rambacher and Anna Fackler; Aunt of John Facker and his wife Carol, Bernard Fackler and his wife Pamela, and Christine Sweeney; great aunt of Suzie and Janine Fackler, Chelsea VanBlarcom and her husband Vinnie, Kaylee Bruckler, and Nicholas Sweeney; dear friend of Jeannie Banner (Pam Facker’s mother) and her former neighbors Mary and George Wrigley who were very kind to Betty.
Betty was born and raised in Bierbrun, Czechoslovakia. She emigrated to the United States in the late 1940s with her sister Irene and joined her mother and brother in the states. She worked for years as an assembler doing piece-work at an electrical company making parts for lights. Betty was always the best dressed factory worker because she always took great pride in her appearance. She was always stylish and was a long-time faithful client at Golden Clippers on Martins Mill Road in Northeast Philadelphia. Her favorite color was red and she frequently wore red clothing and bright red lipstick. Betty was proud to have been a member of Heimat-Echo and loved singing. She quite enjoyed Lawrence Welk. In her younger years, she traveled with her sister Irene, frequently spent time in Ocean City, New Jersey, and was a member of Cannstatter Volksfest Verein.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 9:30 A.M. and funeral service at 10:30 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Her graveside service followed at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville, PA 19053.
Religious services were conducted by The Reverend Norbert F. Hahn, Ph.D.
