The family has lovingly composed the following obituary:

Karl-Heinz Vollrath, at the age of 83, formerly of Darmstadt, Germany, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19th, 2020. Karl was born on September 1st, 1936 to Elizabeth and Peter Vollrath in Darmstadt, Germany. Growing up Karl’s love of cooking all began in his mother’s kitchen. Karl then went on to receive formal culinary training in a first class restaurant in Germany. This would lead him to continuing his culinary career, in the United States, at the Philmont Country Club in 1958.

Before coming to the U.S. in 1957, while in Hamburg, he attended a local dance. Here he met the love of his life, Hannelore Gentz. After she spent some time in England, away from home, and learning more English, Hannelore agreed to come to the U.S as well. There, Karl and Hannelore married on February 13th, 1961.

Karl went on to create delicious cuisine at The Acorn Club, Hofbrauhaus, the ​Cannstatter Volksfest Verein, Otto's Brauhaus then returning to Cannstatter Volksfest Verein where he spent more than a decade and a half before his retirement in 2003 at age 66. His Lifelong group of friends was forged as a result of his lifetime Member of the International Culinary Association.

They have resided in Bucks County for the past 54 years, living their best lives through cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. ​Karl’s favorite activities were cooking, watching ​Fußball, ​and watching Formula 1 racing for hours on end.

Karl-Heinz​ is survived by his loving wife Hannelore “Hanne” (Gentz) and their three sons. Their first son Andre and his girlfriend Renee, their second son Marc and his wife Kathy, and their third son Erec and his wife Michele. Also his four grandchildren Nicole, Michael, Christopher, and Angelica. As well as, two great-grandchildren Lilah and Carson, who would always put a big smile on his face. He is also survived by his brother Horst and his wife Hilda, of Germany.

Due to current ​constrictions surrounding Covid-19, services were private.
