Angela J. Gilson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park. She was 90 years old. Angela was born March 16, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Michael Viglino and the late Maria Viglino (nee - Olivero). She is the beloved wife of 52 years of the late Patrick W. Gilson; Mother of Diane Mulvihill and her husband John, Patricia Heebner, Jeanne Gilson and her husband Donn Dutcher, Michele Lee and her husband Michael, and Andrea Anastasio and her husband Joseph; grandmother of Valerie Wines and her husband Al, Raymond Eastburn, Michael Lee Jr., Nicole Lee, Joseph Anastasio III, and Ryan Anastasio; great grandmother of Aly and Nicholas Wines; sister of the late Mary Nicolai; and the sister-in-law of Anne Needham, Peter Gilson, and the late Margaret Bennett.

Angela was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. She was a 1947 graduate of Little Flower High School. Angela met Patrick while they both worked at the Spruce Restaurant. They fell in love and married June 17, 1950. Angela’s greatest happiness was spending time with her family.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Brian Cox from Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park, 8401 Roosevelt Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19152.
