Thelma E. Howard, a longtime resident of the Juniata neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Virtua West Jersey Hospital Marlton. She was 89 years old. Thelma was born November 18, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Thomas McGowan and the late Elsie McGowan (nee - Clemens). She is the beloved wife of the late John J. Howard; mother of Lynn Zahaczewski and her husband John, John Howard and his wife Virginia, and Lisa Iacono and her husband Kevin; grandmother of Jason Zahaczewski and his wife Gina, Shawn Zahaczewski and his wife Jennifer, and Katie Archer and her husband Michael, John Joseph Howard, Kevin James Howard and his wife Andrea, Taylor Lynn Howard, and Connor Iacono; great grandmother of Molly and Jake Zahaczewski, Madison and Autumn Zahaczewski, Ava and Cole Archer, Owen Patrick and Evelyn Howard; sister of the late John and the late Thomas McGowan. She is also survived by a loving extended family.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 9:30 A.M. and to her Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Innocents Church, 1337 Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19124. Her graveside service followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038.

Religious services were conducted by Holy Innocents Church.
