Marion V. Cahill 96, of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania died Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Mahoning Valley Nursing Home. She is the wife of the late James F. Cahill who died in 1985. Born in Philadelpiha on November 5, 1926; Marion was the daughter of the late Frederick Hessenthaler and the late Christina Hessenthaler (nee - Young). She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Marion had seven children, twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

Marion was a social person. She loved playing cards, bingo, and going to the casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Marion lived in Rockledge for more than 30 years. While in the neighborhood she was committed to her church at St. Cecilia and helped there in any way that she could.

She is survived by her children Christine McVey and her husband the late Bernie McVey, Nancy Alt and her husband James of Florida, Marion Campbell and her husband Charles of Jim Thorpe, PA, Jeannie P. Cahill of Cape May Courthouse, NJ, James Cahill and his wife Sarah of Cabin John, MD, Joan Cahill and her wife Andrea Zanin of Bethesda, MD, Louise Barry and her husband the late Michael Barry of Cape May, NJ and her grandchildren Christina Hutchinson, Denise Dein, Marion Domski, Charles Campbell, Missy McVey, Christy McVey, Ryan Cahill, Patrick Cahill, James Cahill, Michael Barry, Grace Barry, and Bridget Barry.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 10:30 A.M. and funeral service at 11:30 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Her graveside service followed at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

Religious services were conducted by Deacon Pat Diamond from St. Cecilia Church, 535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Mahoning Valley Nursing Home, 397 Hemlock Drive, Lehighton, PA 18235.
