Edwin Crews "Pete" Douglass, MD of Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania died Saturday, July 16, 2022 at his home. He was 73 years old. Pete was born August 16, 1948 in Fayette, Missouri, the only child of the late Edwin Biggs Douglass and the late Mary Athlyn Douglass (nee - Crews). He is the beloved husband of Eileen (nee O’Connell) Douglass; father of Edwin O. “Ned” Douglass and Mary Elizabeth “Mollee” Douglass.

Pete graduated valedictorian from Boonville (MO) High School and attended the University of Chicago on a National Merit Scholarship. At the University of Chicago Pete was member of Alpha Delta Phi fraternity, the GE College Bowl team, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1970. He went to medical school at the University of Chicago followed by an internship at St. Louis Children's Hospital, and pediatric residency at Wyler Children's Hospital (University of Chicago). He did a fellowship in pediatric oncology at the National Cancer Institute and practiced pediatric oncology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN and St. Christopher's Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He then went on to a second career in pharmaceutical medicine at AstraZeneca.

Pete married Eileen O'Connell May 23, 1981 in Silver Spring MD. Their son, Ned, arrived from Korea in 1985 followed by daughter Mollee in 1987.

Pete's retirement in 2010 allowed him to pursue many interests including photography, painting, language studies and genealogy. His greatest joy, however, was his family.
