Elizabeth Rose "Betty" Spannruft of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Paul’s Run. She was 90 years old. Betty was born September 22, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Carl Eugene Othoson and the late Elizabeth Bond Othoson (nee - Christopher). She is the beloved wife of the late Charles “Al” Alvin Spannruft; devoted mother of Lynda Ewald and her husband Herbert and Gail Caddy and her husband Richard; grandmother of Megan Ewald, Nancy Caddy, and Karen Caddy; sister of Ruth Goldacker.
Betty was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. She was a January 1947 graduate of Frankford High School. Betty and Al were married on November 12, 1949 in Philadelphia. They raised their girls in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. Betty was an avid volunteer while raising her girls, through the school PTA, Brownies and other organizations. She and her husband were enthusiastic bowlers. Betty spent summers in Wildwood and Ocean City, New Jersey with her family for her entire life. Betty completely embraced the role of mom and grandmother for her girls and grandchildren. She was entirely devoted to her family.
Services were private.
