Suzanne G. "Sue" Zar of Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Manor at the age of 95. Sue was born November 20, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Rose Nosanow. She is the beloved wife of the late William A. Zar; mother of Connie Zar and Janet Zar and her husband David Magurczek; grandmother of Stephanie Blank and her husband Nick, Joshua and Marissa Magurczek, Jamie Zwier and her husband Jesse, and Michael Mount and his wife Miranda; and great-grandmother of Ciara and Travis Blank.
Sue was raised and educated in West Philadelphia, graduating from Girl’s High School. Growing up, her mother owned a candy store on Haverford Avenue where she spent a great deal of her youth. Sue was employed at the Internal Revenue Service as a Tax Examiner. Sue and her husband Bill opened the Subil's Hobby shop in a local mart selling trains and other hobbies. In her free time, Sue enjoyed square dancing and volunteering at The Northeast Senior Center, and worked at the local polls during elections.
Services and interment were private.
