Charles P. Manning of Upper Moreland Township, Pennsylvania died Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Brookside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was 94 years old. Charles was born August 13, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Joseph Manning and the late Bertha Manning (nee - Kahny). He is survived by Winifred his wife of 69 years. He has 9 nieces and nephews.

Charlie was a life-long resident of the Philadelphia area. He joined the U. S. Navy at age 17 and served mainly in the South Pacific during World War II. He developed a love of the water and navigation formed during his Navy years. Charlie worked for Mac Motors, Jeep dealer in Willow Grove and enjoyed salvaging and repairing old cars and extending their useful life. He and his wife Winnie have lived in their current home for 58 years and have enjoyed the friendships made in the charming community where they have lived for so many years.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. David Church, 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. His graveside service will follow with military honors rendered by the United States Navy at St. John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Road, Chalfont, PA 18914.

Religious services will be conducted by Rev. Matthew P. Windle, Pastor of St. David Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Charity of the donor’s choice.
