The following tribute was composed by Raymond’s family:

On Saturday, October 24, 2020 Raymond C. Woodruff III, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 after a 9-month battle with lung cancer.

Raymond was known by many as one of the “good guys”. He often talked about nonsense to almost everyone he met or who would listen. Whether you were his co-worker, grocery store cashier or nurse, you knew Raymond’s life story whether you wanted to or not. Raymond’s personality and sense of humor made him shine. He would crack jokes and make fun of himself just so he could make others laugh. He was dedicated to his family and spared no expense for them. Raymond would jump at the chance to help his kids and more importantly spend time with his six grandchildren. He loved going on outings even if it was just for ice cream. They were truly the light of his life. Raymond was a dedicated husband of more than 50 years, taking care of his wife so she never had to worry about a thing. Raymond was a tv addict, often confusing shows and making us laugh. He loved his gadgets, always buying things he could not quite get to work. He had the most infectious laugh and amazing smile that will truly be missed.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Raymond C. Woodruff Jr., and his mother, Jane (Burton) Woodruff. He is survived by his beloved wife Gertrude; his three loving children Raymond P. Woodruff, Megan Mullen (John) and Kelly Craven (Neil); and his six grandchildren Hailey, Shannon, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Connor and Riley.

As per Raymond’s wishes there will be no service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to American Cancer Society, 1818 Market Street, Suite 2820, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
