Jim Callan passed away at the age of 69. He leaves behind his loving wife Connie, who together shared endless memories for more than 50 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Jim was predeceased by his parents, Mary E. (nee Schneider) and Edward Hoffman Callan. He is survived by his wife, Connie E. (nee Sayres), children Jennifer (Chris) Murphy, Tracey (Emilio) Medina, and Elizabeth (Steven) Urbank; his grandchildren Angelina, Dominic, Anthony, Caitlyn, Conor, Sarah, and Alexis. Jim is also survived by his sister Kathleen Leister, and his brother Michael (Michele) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jim had a well-respected career as an auto mechanic. Starting out working at a gas station, having his own auto repair business and finally, found his “favorite” job which was working as a mechanic at Horsham Valley Golf Club.

Beyond work, Jim had a love for the game of golf, his family, and a passion for cruising and travel. Friends and family knew Jim to be a kind and gentle soul. He was always willing to help those around him. Having learned the value of mentorship and hard work from his father, Jim acted as a mentor to his grandsons and members of his family and friends. He was often called a “gentle giant”, Big Dawg, Big Daddy. He was well loved. Anyone who met him, never forgot him.

There will be a memorial service and a luncheon to celebrate Jim’s life when it is appropriate in the near future.
