Robert, also known as “Pappy” by family and friends, was born, raised, and educated in Weatherly, PA in Carbon County. He graduated from Weatherly High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served in Strategic Air Command in Westover, MA. He served during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Air Force, he reenlisted in the US Navy where he served honorably until his retirement after 25 years in the military. During his time in the service he worked in Military Police and later as a Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor, conducting lectures at many schools in the area. After his retirement from the military, Robert worked at Helpline, a crisis center for youth. He also worked as security at Willow Grove Park Mall and in shipping/receiving for Lem Products. In his free time Robert enjoyed old movies, video games and playing the scratch offs. Over all the years he has helped with his grandchildren, School holidays and summer vacations. They all speak of his visits to Burdicks in Hatboro and letting them buy some candy. Or how he made his idea of grilled cheese or playing dominos.
