Wilberto Malave of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Jeanes Hospital. He was 74 years old. Wilberto was born December 1, 1946 in Cayey, Puerto Rico, son of the late Cruz Malave Flores and the late Maria Melendez. He is the beloved Husband of Esther Malave; father of Esther Malave and her husband Jon, Wilberto Malave Jr and his wife Angela; grandfather to Devon Benson, Kevin Benson, Alesandra and Matteo Malave; brother of Cruz M Malave and his wife Mary, Jose A Malave and his wife Julie, and the late Hector Cruz Malave and his wife Cecelia. He is also survived by his many sisters in law, brothers in law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Wilberto married the love of his life Esther 54 years ago and then moved to Philadelphia from Cayey, Puerto Rico where they started their life together. They raised 2 children, Esther and Wilberto. He worked tirelessly and was a business owner for many years before retiring. He enjoyed restoring automobiles and rehabbing properties. His home away from home was still his hometown of Cayey Puerto Rico where he visited often.

He will be remembered by all as a family man and someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He will always be remembered and treasured by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Relatives and friends were also invited to a second viewing on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 9:30 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. Helena Church, 6161 North 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19120. His entombment followed at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

Religious services were conducted by Fr. Peter Welsh from St. Helena Church, 6161 North 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19120.
