Elaine Ruth Sauerbaum of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Jefferson Health Hospice at Warminster. She was 88 years old. Elaine was born January 23, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Alfred Schneider and the late Helen Schneider (nee - Dittes). She is the beloved wife of 65 years of Herman Sauerbaum; mother of Chris and Dave Sauerbaum; sister of Norman Schneider and the late Dolores O’Brien and her husband the late Francis “Obie”. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was born, raised, and educated in the Olney section of Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Olney High School and continued her education at Temple University. She and Herman were wed on September 24, 1955 at Salem Zion United Church of Christ. Elaine was a selfless, giving, and caring person who served the Lord and others her whole life.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. and memorial service at 10:00 A.M. at Glenside United Church Of Christ, 2160 Wharton Roads, Glenside, PA 19038.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Kim Kendrick from Glenside United Church Of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 250, Philadelphia, PA 19106 or Jefferson Health Hospice at Warminster - Abington Health Foundation, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001.
