Violetta M. Stauffer, a resident of Hatboro for over 60 years, was welcomed into Glory on Monday, January 23. She was 83 years old. Violetta was born September 12, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Howard E Elder and the late Violetta G Elder (nee - Lewis). She is the beloved wife of the late Stanley H. Stauffer Sr; mother of Stanley H. Stauffer Jr. (Robin), Steven H. Stauffer (Rebecca), Sharon V. Stachelek (Peter) and Stuart H. Stauffer (Beth); sister of the late Howard E Elder, and John C Elder (Joy); grandmother of eleven - Jessica Savoca (Andrew), Stanley H. Stauffer, III (Rusty), Alex Stauffer, Nick Stauffer, Winston Stauffer, Erika Stauffer, Tamara Stachelek, Allyson Stachelek, Nathaniel Stachelek, Tyler Hood, and Matthew Hood; great-grandmother of four - Ethan Savoca, Abigail Savoca, Owen Savoca, and Avery Savoca; and the aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Letty was a 1957 graduate of Upper Moreland High School, and had fun supporting her children at UMHS by attending band concerts and competitions, or sporting events. As grandchildren came along, she also enjoyed cheering them on in their various interests, whether it be music, sports, or ballet.

She was employed at Drexelbrook Engineering for many years, and also sold Avon when her children were young.

Letty was a charter member of Suburban Grace Brethren Church of Hatboro, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, and deaconess. She was also a member of the choir, under the direction of her husband, the late Stanley H. Stauffer, Sr, as well as being involved in the leadership of women's ministries; including WMC. She was very involved with Vacation Bible School, as well as the hospitality committee. In the early 1990's, the family transitioned to Church of the Open Door in Ft. Washington, where she served in the AWANA program. Letty was also a choir member, as well as participating in various hospitality roles.

Regardless of where she found herself, (her home, church, or the homes of family or friends), if there was a kitchen, you were sure to find Letty. She also enjoyed getting together with extended family at reunions, as she loved being with them as often as she could. Letty enjoyed family vacations. She very much looked forward to yearly summer family trips to Norfolk, Va. to visit her brother's family.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Duane Adler associate pastor of Church of the Open Door, 1260 Fort Washington Avenue, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
