Lydia Riediger of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Lafayette Redeemer. She was 87 years old. Lydia was born August 31, 1933 in Poland, daughter of the late Gustav Heise and the late Pauline Heise. She is the beloved wife of the late Emil Riediger; devoted mother of Marika Riediger; sister of Seigmund and his wife the late Irene Heise and the late Emma and her husband the late Ewald Kraus. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
Lydia was born and raised in Poland. She came to the United States where she met Emil, her husband and later raised their daughter in Philadelphia. Lydia worked for many years as a floor supervisor at Rhône-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceutical. She was a perfectionist who enjoyed keeping an immaculate home and will be remembered for her sharp mind and great sense of humor.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. and funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Her graveside service followed at Oakland Cemetery, Adams and Ramona Avenues, Philadelphia, PA 19124.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Owen Griffiths.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Salvation Army, 701 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
