John Hay Sillman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Friday, July 16, 2021 at his home. He was 67 years old. John was born March 18, 1954 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Paul V. Sillman and the late Susan Sillman (nee - Vroom). He is the beloved husband of 30 years of Betty A, (nee Grodziski) Sillman; father of John Sillman (Jennifer) Teri Ruotolo and her husband Joseph, Robert Sillman and his wife Amanda, Efrem Romero Sr.(Alicia) the late Daniel Sillman; grandfather of James Sillman, Andrew Sillman, Peter Ruotolo, Anna Ruotolo, Efrem Romero Jr., Jasmine Romero, Cameron Romero, and Addelyn Romero; brother of Steven Sillman and David Sillman and his wife Ann Marie.

John was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Jules E. Mastbaum Area Vocational/Technical School. He joined the Fire Department right out of high school in 1972. John was proud to have served the Burholme First Aid Corps. Rockledge and Philadelphia Fire Departments for many years. He loved his job until his retirement on July 16, 2008. In his free time, John enjoyed working on his HO gauge model train layout in his basement.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. His graveside service followed at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.
