Richard R. "Dick" Robinson of Lansdale, Pennsylvania died Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Abington-Lansdale Hospital Jefferson Health. He was 88 years old. Dick was born October 26, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Walter Edwin Robinson and the late Anne Maria Robinson (nee - Costello). He is the beloved husband of the late Georgia Mae (nee Earle) Robinson; father of Elaine L. Gilbride and her husband Thom and Craig S. Robinson and his wife Jacqueline; grandfather of Joseph Gilbride, Thomas Gilbride Jr., Lindsay Robinson and Michael Robinson; cousin of Nicole Dul and her mother the late Patricia Michael, PhD whom he loved as his sister.
Dick was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Central High School and continued his education at Temple University where he met Georgia. He graduated from Temple University with a Bachelors and then a Masters in Education. Georgia and Dick were married February 18, 1956. They raised their family in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia. Dick was an English Teacher and Head of the English Department at Gratz and later Lincoln High Schools in The Philadelphia School District which he worked in for 37 years. He was an Elder and past Treasurer at Lawndale Presbyterian Church and former President of the College of Education Alumni Association at Temple University. After retirement, He and Georgia moved to Brittany Pointe Estates in 1999. At Brittany, he was very involved with acting and singing in musical and comedy productions. He received their ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for which he was very proud.
Relatives and friends were invited to call Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 1:00 PM and to his memorial service at 1:30 PM at Brittany Pointe Estates Auditorium, 1001 Valley Forge Road, Lansdale, PA 19446.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Zachary Hopple from Christ United Methodist Church Of Lansdale, 1020 South Valley Forge Road, Lansdale, PA 19446.
