Robert Vane McGowan Jr. of Chalfont, Pennsylvania died suddenly on Friday, September 3, 2021. He was 51 years old. Robert was born October 9, 1969 in Abington, Pennsylvania, son of Robert Vane McGowan and Marie Theresa McGowan (nee - Melly). He is the beloved husband of Michelle C. McGowan (nee Still); father of Devin and Emma McGowan; step-father of Greg and Morgan Lopez; brother of Kerry Butterworth and her husband Robert C., Meghan Fedor, and Brian McGowan and his wife Marlene; uncle of Emily, Zander, Ava, Riley, Ethan, Isabella, and Leo; brother-in-law of Todd Still. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Mary Melly.

Rob was raised and educated in the Willow Grove Area, he attended St. David Parish School and was a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School. He worked as a Philadelphia Union Carpenter for many years for Local 158. Rob and Michelle were married in 2016. He enjoyed being outdoors and hiking often with his dad, his wife and children. He always looked forward to attending the annual summer vacation with extended family and was an avid fitness enthusiast. Some of his favorite things were Philadelphia sports teams, professional soccer, music, craft beers, anything peanut butter and taking his pets Loki and Lola for rides in his Jeep. His greatest joy was being his kids biggest fan, coaching, cheering from the sidelines, and watching them as they enjoyed their favorite activities.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. and celebration of life at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
