William J. Keaton, of Huntingdon Valley, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, at the age of 80. Bill is survived by his wife, Carol (married 56 years), and 3 children -- Scott (Selaine), Brett (Megan), and Alison Richards (Steve), as well as 7 grandchildren -- Grayson, Trevor, Ellie, Kaitlyn, Tommy, Holly, and Brady. Bill’s parents were Sam and Vera (Benner) Keaton of Philadelphia.

Bill was born in Philadelphia -- he graduated from Northeast HS (1959), followed by Rider College in Lawrenceville, NJ (1963). Bill worked as an independent insurance broker and financial planner.

Like his father, Bill earned Eagle Scout (1957) and continued his lifetime connection to Scouting with Troop 160 in Burholme; he was a volunteer in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for his sons (Eagle Scouts), and he proudly watched his grandsons enjoy Scouting (2 are Eagle Scouts, so far).

Bill was an active member at Spray Beach Yacht Club (Long Beach Island, NJ) for 40 years. He loved taking his family out fishing, crabbing and cruising on his boat (Reel Action), which created so many great memories among all of his grandchildren.

A Private Service will be held with his immediate family.
