Esra Wallace of Roslyn, Pennsylvania died Friday, October 8, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 83 years old. Esra was born February 27, 1938 in Carrollton, Georgia, son of the late Louise Barber. He is the beloved husband of 44 years of Jayeanne Clinefelter Wallace; loving father of Esra Jesse Wallace and Adam Jay Wallace and his wife Marisol; grandfather of Myana and Alyza; brother of Donald Powell (Delores) and sister of Margaret Johnson (Rick). He is also survived by his sister-in-law Cathryn Hofmann (Bruce) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Esra was employed at Northwestern Institute of Psychiatry for 39 years. While working at Northwestern, Esra was known for his pitching skills in fast-pitch softball and was an enthusiastic league bowler. He was a lifetime golfer and enjoyed gardening in his spare time. Esra was a proud member of AA for 24 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. and funeral service at 2:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA, 19090.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Glenside Center, 276 North Keswick Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038.
