Ernard Alvin Carl "Ernie" Gustafson Jr. of Hatboro, Pennsylvania died suddenly on Monday, October 25, 2021 at his home. He was 59 years old. Ernie was born April 11, 1962 in Abington, Pennsylvania, son of Gail Eleanor Gustafson (nee - Campion) and the late Ernard Alvin Carl Gustafson. He is the brother of Bonnie Lawn and her husband Dan; uncle of Shelly Lawn Atkinson and her husband Grant and Gus Lawn; great uncle of Dennis and Delaney Gail Atkinson.
Ernie was born, raised, and educated in Upper Moreland. He graduated from Upper Moreland High School in 1980. He was often seen driving around in his beloved car “Purple Haze” and later on with his father and their “gang” on their motorcycles. Ernie took over the family businesses Gustafson and Son and GS Truck Body from his father carrying on the proud family tradition. The family would like express their gratitude to their loyal work family Steve, Pat, Jerome, and Mark for all of their hard work and support through the years.
Ernie had a loyal clientele of area fire and police departments in need of his expertise on their equipment over the years. Please consider a donation to your local fire and police department in Ernie’s memory for the important service they provide our communities.
Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 12:30 P.M. and funeral service at 1:30 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. His graveside service followed at Hatboro Cemetery, 36 Fulmor Avenue, Hatboro, PA 19040.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Owen Griffiths.
