Theresa M. Wodack of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Friday, October 29, 2021 peacefully at home with her daughters. She was 95 years old. Theresa was born July 7, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late William Morgan and the late Mary Morgan Beck (nee - Sheeler). Beloved wife of 51 years of the late John W. Wodack; mother of Theresa Michniewicz (James Rahner) and Marie Kathryn Ames (Michael); grandmother of Matthew Michniewicz (Danielle Halteman), Michael John Ames (Melanie), Stephen Ames (Nicki), and Kristen Chan (Jeffrey); great grandmother of Iris, Simon, Eliot, Sophie, Fiona, Ellis, Eden, and Noah. Theresa was predeceased by her son-in-law, the late John Michniewicz.

Raised in both Philadelphia and Atlantic City, Theresa was a deeply caring and kind person drawn to nursing and fulfilled that dream graduating in 1949 from Atlantic City Hospital with her RN and completing her Anesthesia degree at Thomas Jefferson Medical University immediately following.

A child of the Great Depression reaching adulthood through WWII, Theresa’s long life experiences were wide, wise and fulfilling and she would love to tell her stories to friends and family. It was important to her that people knew what happened and how things were for those living through it. Learning to be a nurse while tending to the wounded soldiers of the greatest generation, gave her a perspective on suffering and sacrifice that she imparted to family, friends and co-workers alike. Theresa remained a working nurse anesthetist at Einstein hospital till late retirement, proud of her decades helping others. Always willing to help with medical issues or personal care, she was often in demand in the family circle to assist.

Theresa also greatly enjoyed her family, the beach, bike riding on the boardwalk, sticky buns, knishes, assisting multiple charities, casinos and shopping sales for others. Tell her what you needed, and off she would go to find the perfect outfit at the absolute best price.

A beloved matriarch, she cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was cherished in return by all. Her indomitable spirit will be greatly missed.

Services were held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Operation Smile, 6435 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA 23509.

Family flowers arranged by Blake Florist 215-379-8787.
