Susan M. "Sue" Kerns of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at Albert Einstein Medical Center at the age of 65.  Sue was born May 27, 1956 in Hamilton, Ontario, daughter of the late Rev. Paul Kushner and the late Katherine Kushner (nee - Hudak).  She is the beloved wife of Robert T. Kerns; mother of Christopher Rehner and his wife Kaylee, Laura Murillo and her husband Johnny, and Robert Rehner and his wife Megan; grandmother of Elizabeth Rehner, Sean, Ethan, and Aidan Murillo; sister of Paul Kushner and his wife Linda, Kurt Kushner  and Karl Kushner and his wife Nancy.

Sue was raised and educated in Johnstown, PA, and was a graduate of Greater Johnstown High School. Sue worked for 22 years at Windber Hospital and later became Manager of a Walmart Vision Center. Although she and Robert briefly dated in their younger years, they reconnected later in life and were married in 2005. Sue loved to play games with her family and friends, especially scrabble and dominoes. She would read and write poetry, play piano, cook, bake, and garden in her free time. She was a church organist for many years at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Johnstown, PA and St. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Central City, PA.  She was a selfless, generous and loving person who will be sorely missed, and forever in our hearts and minds.
