Albert J. Mezger of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. He was 87 years old. Albert was born July 22, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Albert Mezger and the late Emily Mezger (nee - Link). He was a dear friend of the late Carol M. Schwinger.

Albert was born, raised, and educated in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and continued his education at Temple University where he received his Bachelors of Science. Albert served in the United States Army after college. He worked for 34 years at the Pennsylvania Department of Banking as a bank examiner. After retirement from the PA Dept. of Banking, he continued working for seven years at several banks. Albert enjoyed traveling, German and Country music festivals. He was a lifetime member of the Cannstatter Volkfest Verein for the past 55 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 9:30 A.M., and funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 14100 Worthington Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116. His graveside service, where he will be buried next to his dear friend Carol M. Schwinger, will follow with military honors rendered by the United States Army will be at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville, PA 19053.

Religious services will be conducted by The Reverend Norbert F. Hahn, Ph.D. from Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 14100 Worthington Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116.
