Robert Reed Townsend of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Friday, December 3, 2021 at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. He was 69 years old. Robert was born July 28, 1952 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Reed Elijah Townsend and the late Martha Adeline Townsend (nee - Gundaker). He is the brother of Richard Edward Townsend and his wife Karen and Ronald Townsend and his wife Pamela; uncle of Allison and Christian and his wife Joanne; great uncle of three.
He worked as an auto mechanic, and shared his deep love of cars with his best friend and "brother" Pete Mattos who preceded him in death on 7/28/2016. A gathering of friends and burial will be held graveside at Ivy Hill Cemetery on July 28, 2022.
