Dorothy Strange (née Ratke) of Lansdale, Pa left us to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Born May 9, 1927, she lived 94 marvelous years enriching the lives of those around her.

Dorothy is preceded in death by parents Michael and Emily; siblings Katherine, Emma, and Michael; and beloved husband of 64 years, Albert. Her memory lives on in her children Kathleen Papazian and husband Mario, Stephen Strange and wife Ellen; and grandchildren Sarah, Giana, and Anthony.

After graduating from Frankford HS, Dorothy worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 10 years. She and Albert built a home in Bensalem where they raised their family. Whether camping trips or vacations in Alaska and Hawaii, Dorothy was always up for adventures especially with those she loved. She spent many years enjoying the Chesapeake Bay with Albert on their boat the Novus Cymba, where they made many lasting friendships.

Dorothy was an avid baker with a heart as warm as her kitchen. As a devoted Lutheran, she lived a genuine, empathetic, and compassionate life. Extending her grace, she opened her home to those in need and supported many charitable organizations at home and over seas.

Dorothy’s favorite activities included the daily crossword puzzle, reading a new book, watching Jeopardy, nervously cheering for the Eagles, family meals, singing in church on Sundays, and always saving room for dessert.

She will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and her second viewing Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 8:30 A.M. and funeral service at 9:30 A.M. all taking place at Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, 411 Susquehanna Road, Ambler, PA 19002. Her graveside service followed at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Keith Anderson pastor of Upper Dublin Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to International Committee of the Red Cross.

Family flowers arranged by Penny’s Flowers 215-884-9130.
