Orazia Manes of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Nazareth Hospital. She was 78 years old. Orazia was born July 7, 1943 in Colli Al Volturno, Italy, daughter of the late Maurino Umberto DiSandro and the late Antonetta DiSandro (nee - DiSandro). She is the beloved wife of Nicola Luigi Manes; mother of Luciano Manes and Barbara Mang and her husband Jason; grandmother of George and Arthur Mang; sister of Giulia Milan, Cosmo DiSandro, the late Giuseppe DiSandro, the late Diamante DiSandro, and the late Gabriella DiSandro.

Born in 1943, Orazia was originally from Colli al Volturno in the Molise region of Italy. Orazia immigrated to Philadelphia in 1968 with her parents and 4 of her siblings. When she settled in Philadelphia, before meeting her husband, Orazia worked in a factory as a seamstress. Orazia was raised a devout Roman Catholic woman and married her loving and devoted husband, Nicola affectionately known as “Gino” on May 21, 1972. Orazia was a full-time homemaker who raised two children, Luciano and Barbara. Orazia was proud of her Italian heritage and culture, particularly in the kitchen. Despite her physical limitations, Orazia did her best to live a full life. She could be found in the kitchen, quick to offer her guests coffee, she loved the singing voices of Mario Lanza and Rod Stewart, her favorite color was red, red roses were her favorite gift for any occasion, she had an endless sweet tooth, she loved going to the hair salon, and most of all she loved her family. She suffered with poor health for many years, and we hope that her soul is finally at rest and that she is reunited with the loved ones who have paved the way before her including her parents, brothers, and sister. And now may her legs be light and may she dance joyously amongst the angels.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at Presentation B. V. M. Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012. Her graveside service followed at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.

Religious services were conducted by Fr. William S. Harrison from Presentation B. V. M. Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Presentation B. V. M. Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012.
