Rita E. Webster of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania died Thursday, December 15, 2022 at her home. She was 92 years old. Rita was born August 8, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Joseph Westermann and the late Barbara Anna Westermann (nee - Knapp). She is the beloved wife of the late Harold J. Webster; beloved friend and companion of the late Rudolph J. Manero; sister of the late Joseph F. Westermann, the late Martin J. Westermann, Francis X. Westermann, Barbara J. Jeffrey, Edward H. Westermann, Donald A. Westermann, Kathleen Farren, and the late Sr. Rosemarie Westermann R.S.M. She also had 27 nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews; and many cousins, helpers, friends, and students who stayed close and treasured Rita over the years.

Rita was a graduate of the Neupauer Conservatory, was an accomplished musician and beloved teacher of accordion, piano and organ for over 65 years. Rita traveled widely with her music. Her bands and students won trophies at many local and regional contests. Even in her 90’s Rita continued her teaching.

Rita was very active in state and national accordion associations and served as the president of the Pennsylvania Association for over 25 years. Also, was active on the national level as a judge in competitions in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 9:30 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at St. David Church, 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Hatboro Cemetery, 36 Fulmor Avenue, Hatboro, PA 19040.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Matthew P. Windle from St. David Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Sisters of Mercy, Retirement Fund c/o McAuley Convent, 515 Montgomery Avenue Merion Station, PA 19066.
