Joseph "Joe" Juritsch of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Abington Hospital Jefferson Health. He was 84 years old. Joe was born November 12, 1937 in Filipovo, Yugoslavia, son of the late Martin Juritsch and the late Katherine Juritsch (nee - Himmelsbach). He is the beloved husband of Rose Juritsch; father of Joseph Juritsch and his wife Pam and James Juritsch and his wife Lana; Opa of Catherine and her husband Eric, Danielle and her fiancee Brielle, Rachel, Alexis and her boyfriend Chris, Sierra, and Maddie; step grandfather of Vincent and Maria and husband Andrew; great grandfather of Adeline and Lincoln; brother of John Juritsch, Hedwig Sohl, Aplon and Wendell Brenner, the late Steven, the late Fr. Martin, the late Tony, and the late Paul Juritsch; brother in law of Liesel and Judy Juritsch and Paul Hoenisch and his wife Anni; uncle of Linda and her husband Rudy and their daughter Elizabeth. Joe is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

Joe immigrated to the United States with his parents in 1952. They settled in New York City. During his working career he was a machinist at Laneko Engineering. He was a long time member of Danube Swabian Association of Philadelphia. In his free time he enjoyed watching baseball, bowling, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Joe enlisted into the US Army in 1956, served in Korea, and was a proud veteran.

Joe’s family would like to thank all of the doctors and nursing staff at Abington Hospital for their support.

Relatives and friends were invited to his Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia Church, 535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111. His graveside service followed with military honors rendered by the United States Army at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. There will not be a visitation or receiving line due to Covid-19 restrictions at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Danube Swabian Association of Philadelphia, 1277 Southampton Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116.
