The following obituary was composed by Carol’s family:
Carol M. Keaton, of Huntingdon Valley, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, at the age of 80. Carol is survived by her 3 children -- Scott (Selaine), Brett (Megan), and Alison Richards (Steve), as well as 7 grandchildren -- Grayson, Trevor, Ellie, Kaitlyn, Tommy, Holly, and Brady. Carol’s husband of 56 years, Bill, passed away on October 1, 2021.
Carol was born in East Orange, NJ to George and Helen (McCammon) Muench, of Hoboken, NJ and Brooklyn, NY, respectively. She graduated from Clifford J. Scott High School in 1959, and then Carol became an active student-leader at Trenton State College where she graduated with an elementary education degree in 1963.
Carol was a kindergarten teacher – for decades -- at Pine Road Elementary School in Lower Moreland Township. Carol had so much passion and dedication for this role, and she was honored and humbled to serve and teach so many children during their formative school years!
Carol was an active member at Spray Beach Yacht Club (Long Beach Island, NJ) for 40 years. She loved hosting friends and family at her shore house and sharing many meals and great memories there with her grandchildren.
Carol shared her other passion of playing cards -- especially bridge -- with many special friends on LBI and through the HV Women’s Club. Although the rest of her family did not know how to play bridge, she equally loved playing pinochle or Rummikub with her children and grandchildren.
A Private Service will be held with her immediate family.
